Woods of Net
About
Located within the Hakone Open-Air Museum, the Woods of Net is a stunning architectural pavilion built entirely of interlocking timber without metal fasteners. Inside, children can climb and play on a massive, vibrant hand-knitted net installation by artist Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam. It is a brilliant fusion of traditional Japanese carpentry and interactive contemporary art that is highly engaging for families.
Insider Tip
Only children are allowed to climb the colorful nets, but adults can relax on the wooden benches underneath to admire the woodwork.
