Rai San'yō Historical Site Museum

This tranquil museum is dedicated to Rai San'yō, a prominent 19th-century scholar and poet, and is built around his preserved study and a historic black-walled storehouse that miraculously survived the 1945 atomic blast. It offers a rare, peaceful glimpse into Edo-period literary culture right in the heart of modern Hiroshima. Inside, you will find calligraphy, scrolls, and exhibits detailing his life and lasting influence on Japanese thought.
