Schmoe House
This modest wooden building is the only surviving structure built by Floyd Schmoe, an American housing reformer who rallied volunteers to build homes for victims of the 1945 atomic bomb. Now serving as a branch of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, it offers a deeply moving, intimate look at grassroots postwar reconciliation and reconstruction efforts. Inside, you will find poignant archival photographs and bilingual exhibits detailing the human side of the city's recovery.
