Forest of Life

Tucked inside the larger Umekoji Park, the Forest of Life (Inochi no Mori) is a restored biotope designed to recreate Kyoto’s ancient, native ecosystem. It is a quiet, shaded sanctuary featuring walking paths, a wooden boardwalk, and a small pond where you can observe local birds, insects, and seasonal flora. It is worth a brief, peaceful detour if you are already visiting the nearby Kyoto Aquarium or Railway Museum.
