Kyoto Seishu Netsuke Art Museum
This is Japan's only museum dedicated entirely to netsuke—intricately carved, miniature toggle sculptures used during the Edo period to secure pouches to kimono sashes. Housed in a beautifully preserved 1820 samurai residence (buke-yashiki), the museum lets you admire over 400 exquisite contemporary and antique carvings up close using provided magnifying glasses. It is a quiet, fascinating stop for art lovers wanting to see world-class Japanese craftsmanship in an authentic historical setting.
