To-ji Temple

To-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site founded in 796, is famous for housing Japan's tallest five-story wooden pagoda, standing at 55 meters. Visitors can marvel at the Lecture Hall's rare 3D mandala, a breathtaking arrangement of 21 ancient Buddhist statues from the 9th century. The temple grounds offer a peaceful stroll through history, particularly stunning during spring cherry blossom night illuminations.
