This beautifully preserved 1934 railway building blends traditional Japanese temple architecture with modern Western concrete design. Now serving as Nara's main tourist information center, it is a quick and highly rewarding stop right outside the modern station. Inside, you can admire the elegant high-ceilinged lobby, grab useful English maps, and enjoy the cozy on-site Starbucks.
