Music Bar Reciaffe is an intimate, vinyl-centric hideaway in Nara perfect for audiophiles and jazz lovers. This cozy establishment stands out for its incredible sound system, welcoming master, and an extensive, curated record collection spanning jazz, soul, and rock. Expect a relaxed, retro atmosphere where you can sip excellent highballs and local sake while listening to warm analog tracks alongside friendly locals.
Music Bar Reciaffe (known locally by the katakana name レシャフェ / Reshafe) is positioned on the ground floor directly across from Tsubai Elementary School, just south of Sanjō-dōri and the Mochiidono arcade. Because historical attractions and shopping arcades in Nara shut down early in the evening, the bar serves as a late-night refuge for record listening after dinner. The venue is compact and occasionally hosts acoustic live performances, so checking for private gig bookings before visiting ensures standard bar seating.
Don't be shy to request a song; the owner is incredibly accommodating and loves sharing his passion for music with international guests.
Music Bar Reciaffe is located on the ground floor of 41 Tsubaichō, directly across from Tsubai Elementary School in central Nara. The bar is a 5-minute walk south from Kintetsu-Nara Station or about an 11-minute walk from JR Nara Station.
The bar opens in the evening at 19:30 and operates late into the night until 03:00, with last orders taken at 02:30. It is regularly closed every Thursday. Operating hours can shift during special acoustic live music events.
Alongside a variety of custom spirits and classic cocktails, the bar serves brewed coffee and soft drinks in a space decorated with vintage furnishings. Visitors can comfortably listen to analog records over non-alcoholic beverages late into the evening.
