Nakatanidou

Nakatanidou is a legendary confectionery shop in Nara famous for its high-speed yomogi (mugwort) mochi pounding. Watching the master artisans hammer the green dough with incredible speed and rhythm is a thrilling spectator event. Visitors are rewarded with warm, freshly made mochi dusted in kinako (roasted soybean flour) and filled with sweet red bean paste.
