Nigatsu-do
Nigatsu-do is a stunning hilltop sub-temple of the Tōdai-ji complex, famous for its magnificent wooden balcony that offers sweeping, panoramic views over Nara. Unlike the crowded main hall of Tōdai-ji, this sacred space offers a quieter, deeply spiritual atmosphere, especially beautiful as the evening lanterns light up. Expect a short uphill climb rewarded by peaceful chanting, historic architecture, and one of the best sunset spots in the city.
