Yakushi-ji
Originally founded in 680, Yakushi-ji is one of Japan's oldest and most historically significant Buddhist temples, dedicated to the Buddha of Medicine. It is famous for its unique layout and the striking contrast between the original 8th-century East Pagoda and the vibrantly reconstructed West Pagoda. Inside, you can admire masterfully preserved Yakushi Triad bronze statues, which survived centuries of fires.
