Are tattoos allowed at Onsen Yumorinosato?
Tattoos are permitted only if they can be completely covered by skin seals or waterproof bandages. If tattoos remain visible inside the dressing room or baths, staff will instruct the guest to leave without a refund. The facility does not permit uncovered ink of any size.
How do I get to Yumorinosato from Chōfu Station?
A free shuttle bus operates daily between the north taxi rotary of Chōfu Station and Yumorinosato, taking roughly eight minutes each way. Alternatively, take Keio Bus route 34 toward Jindaiji from Chōfu Station North Exit, disembark at the Jindaiji bus stop, and walk six minutes to the entrance.
What kind of water is the Kuroyu bath here?
The baths draw undiluted sodium chloride spring water from 1,500 meters underground. The jet-black color comes from organic humic acid derived from ancient kelp and fern strata. Because the water is isotonic—matching human bodily salinity—bathers absorb minerals efficiently with less risk of bath-induced fatigue during longer soaks.
Can children and babies enter the baths?
Children are welcome, but only if they are fully toilet trained. Anyone wearing diapers is strictly prohibited from entering the bathtubs. Additionally, mixed-gender bathing for children accompanying an opposite-gender parent or guardian is permitted only for those below elementary school age, according to the official facility policy.
Are towels provided, or do I need to bring my own?
Basic body soap and rinse-in shampoo are provided at the washing stalls, but bath towels and small washcloths are not included in admission. Guests may bring their own or rent a towel set at the reception desk for ¥400. Dark water may stain light-colored personal towels.
