Tokyo Disney Resort features two world-class theme parks: the classic Disneyland and the completely unique, ocean-themed DisneySea, which is widely considered the best Disney park in the world. Visitors can expect incredible attention to detail, exceptional Japanese hospitality, and exclusive themed food and merchandise. It is highly worth visiting for families and theme park enthusiasts alike, offering a distinct cultural twist on beloved Disney magic.
Tokyo Disney Resort is located in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, directly connected to JR Maihama Station rather than central Tokyo. Physical ticket sales booths outside the gates are defunct, so all admissions must be purchased in advance via the official application or web portal. Security checkpoints open early in the morning, and the resort frequently opens park turnstiles ahead of the posted schedule to clear crowds.
Download the official Tokyo Disney app before arriving to buy tickets, book standby passes, and check wait times in real time.
Resort entrance booths do not sell park tickets on-site. Visitors must purchase date-specific tickets in advance using the Tokyo Disney Resort application or official reservation website. Online sales open two months ahead of each date at 14:00 JST, and admissions frequently sell out on peak dates.
Boxed meals and packed lunches are not allowed inside Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea. Visitors carrying lunch boxes must use the designated Picnic Areas situated outside the park turnstiles before entry or after stamping out for re-entry. Only candy, small snacks for young children, and drink bottles are permitted inside.
Located directly outside JR Maihama Station's South Exit, the Tokyo Disney Resort Welcome Center assists guests staying at Disney and designated official partner hotels. Between 7:30 and 16:00, arriving guests can process pre-check-in and leave their luggage for complimentary delivery directly to their hotel while heading into the parks.
Tokyo Disneyland is a five-minute walk from JR Maihama Station, but Tokyo DisneySea is located on the opposite side of the resort. Visitors can board the monorail from Resort Gateway Station beside Maihama Station to Tokyo DisneySea Station in approximately nine minutes, or walk the signposted footpath in 15 to 20 minutes.
