Hello, I’m Waka, a local guide based in the Kyoto area. I was born in Osaka, grew up in Nara, and have lived near Kyoto for many years. Having spent most of my life in the Kansai region, I enjoy sharing not only famous sights but also the history, culture, religion, and everyday life behind them. Before becoming a guide, I worked as a professional translator for about 20 years. This experience helps me communicate clearly and explain Japanese culture in a way that is informative, interesting, and easy to understand. I carefully prepare each tour and pay close attention to my guests’ pace and needs throughout the day. I also provide practical support with transportation and other details so that guests can enjoy the experience comfortably and with confidence.
